Mental Wellbeing is not just the absence of disease or illness. It is a complex combination of a person’s physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social health factors.
Your mental well-being can change from hour to hour, day to day, or month to month; or year to year, based on many factors. But, don’t mistake a bad mood or a specific situation (environmental or otherwise) as mental illness. If you suffer with depression or you feel down, that doesn’t necessarily mean you have a chemical imbalance or you need medication. Even if you have a history of mental illness in your family, that doesn’t mean you too, will suffer. There are many natural ways to restore a healthy state of mind…it could be as easy as changing your mindset. Maybe you’ve been told that drugs are your only answer or maybe you have succumbed to the fact that everyone else in your family suffers from an addiction, so you are doomed? This is not the case…there is help for you, if you ask.
